Not only will we hike in one of t he most beautiful and remote areas of NJ, we’re going to do part of it under the stars and moonlight! Join us in our evening adventure and experience the forest in a whole new light. We will be hiking about 6 to 7 miles total with at least a full mile of it under the moonlight. At some point in our adventure, we will roast marshmallows and enjoy tasty s’mores by camp stove or campfire.\n\n $20 at the door if you do not buy a ticket online.\n\nHike Leader:\nDavid will be leading thi s hike.\nDavid will not be waiting for late people. In fairness to tho se who arrive on time, the hike will start on time.\n\nSpecs:\nThe hik e is classified as moderately strenuous with a lot of uphill and downh ill.\nWe will be hiking a total of about 6 to 7 miles and will take ap prox 4.5 hours.\n\nSweeper:\nIf the group size is larger than 10, we a re going to look for a volunteer to act as a sweeper. Sweepers will wa lk at the end of the hike line and will make sure the group stays toge ther.\n\nWhat to bring:\nHiking boots and 3 liters of water (required) . This hike is going to be taxing and you need to have the right gear and supply of water.\nAlso, bring a light source. We will try to navig ate by the moonlight with our eyes adapted to the limited light, but w e still may need an external light source.\nBring a light snack or mea l to keep your appetite satisfied.\n\nInclement Weather:\nAny precipit ation will cancel this hike. Please check your inbox for updates. Tick ets will be refunded.\n\nDirections:\nTake RT 80 west to exit 12. At t he end of the exit ramp, take a right onto RT 521 (Hope / Blairstown R d). Take that to the end and make a left onto RT 94 South. At the firs t light, make the weaker right onto Bridge St. Do not take the sharpes t right, make sure you are on Bridge St. Follow that up the hill and m ake a right onto Millbrook Rd. Follow that for 6.4 miles until you see Historical Millbrook Village on your right and turn right onto Old Mi ne Rd (North) there (the sign for Old Mine Rd was gone last time, so p lease look for the Historical Millbrook Village and count your mileage ). Continue on Old Mine Rd for 1.5 miles and make your first right (yo u’ll see a sign for Blue Mountain Lakes) onto Flatrockville Stillwat er Rd (also known as Blue Mountain Lakes Rd). The parking area is 1.3 miles up on the left.\n\nPlease give plenty of time to arrive here. On ce at that lot, we will carpool to the smaller lot approx 10 min away via dirt road. Although never required, please consider sharing your v ehicle for a carpool.\n\nPlease Note If you decide to use GPS and not these directions, please note that you can only approach the destinati on from the western side.
