SUMMARY:Hike: The Harriman Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Are you ready for some glorious leaf peeping? Then meet up
  with other NJYPers at Harriman State Park as we follow a path that wi
 ll take us past old growth green forests, pristine vistas and beautifu
 l overlooks of lush valleys and distant cities. Together we will explo
 re this vast, beautiful place while getting in a workout. After the hi
 ke we may go out for a late lunch and  drinks so bring cash and get r
 eady to work up an appetite.\n \n\n\n\nMember Cost: $10 online $20 at
  the door (so please register online) Non-Member Cost: $20 online and 
 at the door Tickets: Limited tickets are available. All sales are fina
 l. Your name will be at the door if you buy a ticket. Hike Leader: Dav
 id will be leading this hike. David will not be waiting for late peopl
 e. In fairness to those who arrive on time, the hike will start on tim
 e. Hike Specs: Classified as strenuous with a lot of uphill and downhi
 ll. 7 miles long and we will walk at a moderate pace. 4 hours from sta
 rt to finish, depending on how people feel. As with all hikes you must
  be in good, athletic shape. This is NOT suitable for beginners. Sweep
 er: If the group size is larger than 10, we are going to look for a vo
 lunteer to act as a sweeper. Sweepers will walk at the end of the hike
  line and will make sure the group stays together. What to bring: Hiki
 ng boots and 3 liters of water (required). Also recommended is non cot
 ton clothing. Sunscreen and a light snack or a small lunch. Inclement 
 Weather: Heavy precipitation will cancel this hike; drizzle will not.

 ons: Head north on I-287. Follow I-287 until the NY State border and f
 ollow the signs for I-87 North (also known as NY State Thruway). Take 
 exit 15A and make a left at the end of the exit ramp onto RT 17 North.
  Follow that for 2.5 miles and make a right turn onto Seven Lakes Driv
 e. Follow Seven Lakes Drive for 1.5 miles and you will see the visitor
 ’s center to the right. There is little parking so you may have to p
 ark on the street with other vehicles (that’s not a problem, but jus
 t be aware and keep your tires behind the white line). Obey the speed
