Then meet up with other NJYPers at Harriman State Park as we follow a path that wi ll take us past old growth green forests, pristine vistas and beautifu l overlooks of lush valleys and distant cities. Together we will explo re this vast, beautiful place while getting in a workout.\n\nALSO, thi s will be David's LAST hike as senior hike leader. All sales are final. Your name will be at the door if you buy a ticket. Hike Leader: David will be leading this hike. David wil l not be waiting for late people. In fairness to those who arrive on t ime, the hike will start on time. Hike Specs: Difficulty level is 4.0 , http://www.njyp.org/page/hike-ratings  7 miles long and we will wa lk at a moderate pace. 5 hours from start to finish, depending on how people feel. As with all hikes you must be in good, athletic shape. Th is is NOT suitable for beginners. Sweeper: If the group size is large r than 10, we are going to look for a volunteer to act as a sweeper. S weepers will walk at the end of the hike line and will make sure the g roup stays together. What to bring: Hiking boots and 3 liters of wate r (required). Also recommended is non cotton clothing. Sunscreen and a light snack or a small lunch. Inclement Weather: Heavy precipitation will cancel this hike; drizzle will not. Please check your inbox for updates. Tickets will be refunded. Directions: Head north on I-287. F ollow I-287 until the NY State border and follow the signs for I-87 No rth (also known as NY State Thruway). Take exit 15A and make a left at the end of the exit ramp onto RT 17 North. Follow that for 2.5 miles and make a right turn onto Seven Lakes Drive. Follow Seven Lakes Drive for 1.5 miles and you will see the visitor’s center to the right. T here is little parking so you may have to park on the street with othe r vehicles (that’s not a problem, but just be aware and keep your ti res behind the white line). Obey the speed limit! 25mph as you approa ch the park and they mean it.
