The Mount Tammany Hike is one of the most famous in all of New Jersey. The views are spectacular and at one point there is even a 1300 foot drop off to the Delaware R iver below! The hike starts off at around 200 ft above sea level and c limbs to 1527ft above all in about 2 miles. The terrain is very rocky so ankle support is important. Along the hike you will find beautiful streams, quaint waterfalls, and an abundance of unique foliage. So, if you are in good physical shape and are ready for a challenge, join us this Sunday morning!\n\n\n\nSpecs:\nThe hike is classified as strenuo us and is about 3.5 miles long.\nThe hike should take 3-4 hours.\nThis is not a hike for \"first timers\". You must be in good, athletic sha pe.\nGroup will stop to eat lunch along the trail. BYOLunch.\n\nMember Cost:\n$5 for the first 5 to buy a ticket\n$10 for the next 6-25 to b uy a ticket\n$20 at the door (so please register online)\n\nNon-Member Cost:\n$20 online and at the door\n\nTickets:\nThere are a limited nu mber of Tickets for sale. Tickets are not mailed, but your name will b e kept at the door. Actual hike is subject to change depending on weat her conditions, fallen trees, etc. All sales are final.\n\nSweeper:\nI f the group is large we are going to look for 2 volunteers to act as s weepers. Sweepers will walk at the end of the hike line and will make sure the group stays together.\n\nHike Leader:\nNoah will be leading t his hike. It is one of his favorites!\n\nWhat to bring:\nHiking boots and water (both required).\nSnacks, a lunch, layers of clothing, etc.\ nToilet paper, tissues, plastic bags for garbage, etc.\nDo NOT wear sn eakers.\n\nInclement Weather:\nPrecipitation might cancel this hike bu t we often walk in light rain. Please check your inbox for updates and the NJYP.org calendar. Tickets will be refunded.\n\nDirections:\nTake Interstate Route 80 west towards the Delaware Water Gap. Immediately beyond milepost 1, take the exit for the \"picnic area\" and bear left at the fork. Continue past the underpass to the left and turn right i nto a parking area at a sign for \"Dunnfield Creek Natural Area.\" (If you miss the exit from Route 80, take Exit 1, turn left at the end of the ramp, and continue on the service road parallel to Route 80 past the visitor center. Turn left at the underpass, go under Route 80, tur n left again, and turn right at the \"Dunnfield Creek Natural Area\" s ign.\n\nIt is almost impossible to use an online mapping system as the re is no street address for the Dunnfield Creek Natural Area.
