Noah rec ommends you bring a poncho in case it's wetter than a light drizzle... \n\nRemember there will be plenty of woods on this hike to trek throug h, so it may not be quite as wet once we start hiking....\n\nEnjoy!\n\ nLaura\n\n\nOn Thanksgiving you eat a bird, the day after you chase af ter birds! This hike is for those who want to avoid the malls and the road rage while working off some post-Thanksgiving weight gain.\n\nGra b your cameras and binoculars (if you have them) and join us for our y early hike up to the Hawk Watch. Based on the migration schedule we sh ould be able to spot several different types of hawks and if we are lu cky we will even see some wild turkeys (no promises but we are going t o try).\n\nSpecs:\nThe hike is classified as easy to moderate and is a bout 2.4 miles long.\nThe hike should take 2 hours.\nAs with all hikes you must be in good, athletic shape.\n\nMember Cost:\n$5 for the firs t 10 to buy a ticket\n$10 for the next 11-25 to buy a ticket\n$20 at t he door (so please register online)\n\nNon-Member Cost:\n$20 online an d at the door\n\n\nRSVP (to the right) and we will let you know when t ix are almost gone, when prices are going up, if there are any changes , etc.\n\nTickets:\nThere are a limited number of Tickets for sale.\nT ickets are not mailed, but your name will be kept at the door.\nActual hike is subject to change depending on weather conditions, fallen tre es, etc.\nAll sales are final.\n\nSweeper:\nIf we have a large group w e will ask for 2 volunteers to act as sweepers. Sweepers will walk at the end of the hike line and will make sure the group stays together.\ n\nHike Leader:\nNoah will be leading this hike. He may do a trial run of the hike to make sure the trails are clean, etc.\n\nWhat to bring: \nHiking boots and water (required).\nSnacks, a light lunch, etc.\nBin oculars.\nToilet paper, tissues, plastic bags for garbage, etc.\n\nInc lement Weather:\nHeavy rain will cancel this hike but drizzle may not. Ticket s will be refunded.\n\nDirections:\nTake Interstate Route 80 to Exit 3 7 (Hibernia/Rockaway) and bear left at the end of the ramp. Continue n orth on Green Pond Road (County Route 513) for 6.5 miles and turn righ t onto Upper Hibernia Road. (If coming from the north, you can take Ro ute 23 to Green Pond Road, head south for 3.7 miles, and turn left ont o Upper Hibernia Road.) Follow Upper Hibernia Road for 2.5 miles to th e end of the paved portion of the road. Continue ahead for a short dis tance, turn left just past Brunache Road, and park in the wide gravel area.\n\nHow to find the group:\nWe will meet in the parking lot.
