SUMMARY:Make Beer (Sam Adams Summer Ale)
DESCRIPTION:Whether you love making beer or you just love drinking bee
r, this is the event that will bring young beer fans together. Meet up
with us in downtown Freehold as we gather to brew and bottle a batch
of suds. After this two session process you will walk away with new fr
iends and fresh beer (how often does that happen?).\n\nDates:\nApr 25,
  2pm BREWING\nMay 8, 10am BOTTLING\n(you do not have to attend both bu
t you must pick up your beers)\n\nWho can attend:\nThis is an NJYP MEM
BERS ONLY event (aka you paid your dues).\nYou must pre-order (aka no
walk-ins allowed).\n\nCost:\nThe cost is $5 per 22 oz “Bomber Bottle
”. Everyone MUST order a minimum of 6 bottles per person (but you ca
n also order 12 bottles).\nCost includes everything (license, taxes, b
ottles, ingredients, teachers, etc)\n\n\n\nAbout the American Wheat Al
e:\nThis is a beer styled after Sam Adams Summer Ale. An Americanized
version of a Hefe Weizen, these beers range within the pale to golden
range in color. Reminiscent of a Hefe Weizen in appearance, unless fil
tered. Long-lasting head with a light to medium body, higher carbonati
on is proper. German Weizen flavors and aromas of banana esters and cl
ove-like phenols will not be found. We use a substantial percentage of
wheat malt. Hop character will be moderate in bitterness.\n\nOften se
rved with a lemon wedge (popularized by Americans), to either cut the
wheat or yeast edge, which many either find to be a flavorful snap.\n\
nPost-Event Hanging Out:\nLet’s go out for food after brewing and bo
ttling somewhere in downtown Freehold.\n\nDirections:\nWe will be maki
ng beer inside the same facility that holds Grape Beginnings (the wine
making place). Look for signs for Grape Beginnings and park in their
lot or on the street.\n\n\n=================\n\nFAQ\nHow long will it
take to brew the beer?\nWe will meet first to brew the beer. This will
take approximately 2 hours.\n\nHow long will it take to bottle the be
er?\n2 weeks after brewing we will meet to bottle the beer. This will
take about 1 hour.\n\nWhat do I do with the empty bottles?\nBring them
back to U-brew for bottle refunds.\n\nHow do I store the beer?\nAfter
your Microbrew is bottled, always store your beer in a cool, dark pla
ce. A fridge is ideal. There are NO preservatives in our beers; shelf
life is reduced if you store in a warm place. Shelf life is generally
 3 to 8 months but best to drink within 2 months.\n\nWhat do I wear?\nP
lay clothes! You'll be getting down and dirty.\n\nI want to make a dif
ferent beer. Now what?\nThe next beer we make will be based on this su
 rvey, http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/63QHKSH\n\nFor more information vi
