Event Description

A popular locale for bird watchers, the grounds of the Institute Woods and Princeton Battlefield have been walked by historical figures from George Washington to Albert Einstein. On this summer morning, the members of NJYP will take an easy hike through these hallowed grounds nestled on almost 600 acres in the middle of Princeton. After, the group may go out for lunch (or ice cream) in Princeton - totally optional but sure to be fun!

Member Cost:
$5 for the first 10
$10 for the next 11 to 25
$20 at the door

Non-Member Cost:
$20 online and at the door.

Tickets:
There are a limited number of tickets for sale. Tickets are not mailed, but your name will be kept at the door. All sales are final.

Specs:
The hike is classified as easy and is good for beginners.
The hike is 4 miles long and we will walk at a moderate pace.
The hike should take about 2 hours.
As with all hikes you must be in good, athletic shape.

Sweeper:
If the group size is large we are going to look for a volunteer to act as a sweeper. Sweepers will walk at the end of the hike line and will make sure the group stays together.

Hike Leader:
Keira will be leading this hike. She will make sure the hike starts on time so please arrive on time.

What to bring:
Water (required).
Hiking boots and bug spray recommended.

Inclement Weather:
Heavy precipitation will cancel this hike; drizzle will not. Please check your inbox for updates and the NJYP.org calendar. Tickets will be refunded.

Directions:
From the intersection of US Route 206 and Highway 27 in Princeton, travel 0.1 mile north on 27. Turn right (southwest) on Mercer Road/Princeton Pike/CR 583 and drive 1.4 miles. Turn left into the Princeton Battlefield parking area. If this is full, there is additional parking on Mercer Road.
