Event Description

Join us on this early Summer hike to get to know fellow NJYPers and take in the beauty of this park, which happens to be the very first park designated in the Morris County Park System. Substantially greater today than it's original land area, we will explore and enjoy several of the many trails inside the 1154 acres that make up Lewis Morris Park. Afterward, the group may go for a late lunch and drinks...totally optional but always fun!

Member Cost:
$5 online
$20 the day of and at the door

Non-Member Cost:
$20 online and at the door.

Tickets:
There are a limited number of tickets for sale. Tickets are not mailed, but your name will be kept at the door. All sales are final.

Specs:
Difficulty level is 2.3, http://www.njyp.org/page/hike-ratings
Length of the hike is about 4-5 miles long and we will walk at a moderate pace.
The hike should take about 2.5 hours.
As with all hikes you must be in good, athletic shape.

Sweeper:
If the group size is large we are going to look for a volunteer to act as a sweeper. Sweepers will walk at the end of the hike line and will make sure the group stays together.

Hike Leader:
Maren will be leading this hike. She will make sure the hike starts on time so please arrive on time.

What to bring:
Water (required).
Hiking boots and bug spray recommended.
A light snack.

Heavy precipitation will cancel this hike; drizzle will not. Please check your inbox for updates and the NJYP.org calendar. Tickets will be refunded.

Comment by Daniella on July 18, 2015 at 9:58pm: I was very disappointed by the organization of this hike, there were 5 of us waiting at the specified meet up spot, we sent multiple messaged via the contact hike leader link..We waited until 11:00 and took off on our own unguided tour. This was my first event. FUTURE : The phone number of the event leader as well as the hike trail name should be notified in the activity feed for people lost or whom have questions.
