Hike Leader:
David will be leading this hike. David will not be waiting for late people. In fairness to those who arrive on time, the hike will start on time.
Hike Specs:
The hike is classified as
strenuous with a lot of uphill and downhill.
We will be hiking a total of about 9 to 10 miles and will take approx 6.5 hours.
As with all hikes you must be in good, athletic shape.
This is NOT suitable for beginners.
What to bring:
Hiking boots and 3 liters of water (both required).
Also recommended is non-cotton clothing.
Sunscreen, bug spray, and a light snack/small lunch.
Toilet paper, a garbage bag, backpack, etc.
Inclement Weather:
Any precipitation beyond a drizzle will cancel this hike since we will be walking on potentially slippery rocks. Tickets will be refunded.
Directions:
This place is easy to miss, so careful attention to directions is required. Take Rt. 80 West until mile marker 1. Immediately past mile marker 1, make the first right hand exit and then immediately turn right into the lot. This is not the same lot used in the past for Mt Tammany Hikes, but it is adjacent to it so if you miss it, just park in the next lot (labeled Dunnfield Creek Natural Area) and walk over. We are using this first lot because the other lot always has space issues.
If you miss the parking lot area altogether, take exit 1 then make the first left going under Rt. 80 onto River Rd. Do not get on 80 East, instead follow River Rd. until you see an underpass under Rt. 80 on the left. Take that underpass, make a left, and then immediately look for the sign that says Dunnfield Creek Natural Area. This is the 2nd lot as described above so just walk over to the first lot.

How to find the group:
Meet in the first parking lot. If you miss the first lot, as explained above, just walk on over to it as they are very close.
