Join NJYP as we take part in The Amazing New York Race; an event that is part scavenger hunt, part obstacle course and ALL NEW YORK. You and your NJYP team members will follow a series of clues that will lead you all over the city. You will perform both physical and mental challenges along the way that will get you thinking and laughing. After 3 hours of being on the hunt the race will end with drinks, snacks and story telling galore!

How it Works:
There are four parts to the race all with different point values. The team with the most points at the end is the winner!
Hidden New York: Your team is given photos of various places around the city that you need to find and complete a task.
Photo Scavenger Hunt: Teams take photos with things like "a hot dog vendor", "a woman wearing red heels" or "a bride".
Roadblock: This is a task that one person on the team must perform. It is usually a physical challenge like Dance Dance Revolution, Bowling or Wiffle Ball.
Detour: This is a choice between two tasks. It is usually something mental like a puzzle or a Sudoku.

Who Can Attend:
This is a private event for NJYP so please be 21 to 39, single or married.

$40 at the door

Non-Member Cost:
$40 online and at the door

Team Size:
Teams can be anywhere from 2 - 4 members.
Sign up alone and we will place you on a team
or create your own team.

What to Bring:
- Unlimited Day Pass Metrocard (buy one BEFORE you sign-in)
- Subway Map (they are free)
- Digital Camera (preferred) or Camera Phone
- Smartphone, iPad, or Netbook will certainly come in handy!
- Water and snacks

What to Wear:
- Comfortable shoes (you will be running and/or walking fast for about 4 hours)
- Backpack or Messenger Bag (for your water, map, camera, snacks, etc)
- Leave your big purse at home (for best results)

Inclement Weather:
You won't melt, we promise! The race still goes on. Races can actually be MORE fun in the rain!

Local West is a restaurant that is technically at 1 Penn Plz, New York, NY BUT it is easier to find if you head to the corner of 8th Avenue and W 33rd Street. Local West is right across from Madision Square Garden, diagonally from the Post Office, and right next door to Duane Reade.
