Any entrepreneurs or small business owners on here?

I'm looking to join your ranks, and figured meeting and talking to a number of other NJ small business owners and entrepreneurs could prove useful.

My business will be primarily web based, but any kind of small business owner is welcome in this discussion.

Feel free to also share what you can help out with or give advice on. For instance, I'm not great but I do know quite a bit about tech stuff, including web development and internet marketing, financing, and web based shopping.

Also feel free to share your story - I tend to be inspired when I read stories of everyday normal people going out there and succeeding with their own business.

Hey Keith, I registered my photo studio last year as a small business with the state of NJ. It is still work in progress.

I had no idea you also had a small business for photography. You're just full of surprises aren't you Huma? haha. Let me know if you need help redesigning that website.

Anyone else out there a small business owner and a fellow NJYP member?

Thanks Keith!!! I can definitely use some help launching it properly...
No problem, this is what my aim is to do - to create a network of us young entrepreneurs such that we can share experiences and skills and better equip ourselves to do business.

Well, let's talk. At the very least I know some people who might be interested in an investor or something, but I personally am not. Plus I might be able to help you get back onto the route of going with your own business again.

I have been working on a start up for a while now, but was only given limited time due to some reasons that would take too long to explain on here (nothing bad, just other job calling me back). I am however always looking to partner up with someone on a good idea, as well as provide some capital. Ive been looking into doing this for a while, but most of the sites require you to meet some crazy requirements in order to join the exclusive groups...
Hey Keith! :) Jan. 2010 was the official launch date of our company, No Limit Events. We're a wedding/special event planning company based out of North Jersey. We have a strong online presence and even offer clients a personalized website through our site among other great benefits.

For those of you in the beginning stages of a start up or thinking about doing it, the best advice I can really give you is to be patient and organize things as if you had OCD (joke). It takes a lot out of you, especially if you're juggling another F/T job, so realize you may not see 6 figures right away.

Also, network, network, network. But do it in a way where you don't seem too pushy or are over-selling. As long as you love what you're trying to do and are personable, people will listen and business will come.
Hey Keith,
I started my company 5 months ago..so far its just me, no other employees. Still growing. I am learning everything about the legal, financial and marketing stuff online--but would love to get in touch other entrepreneurs to get that 'human contact'. I guess I should also probably hire a part-time accountant and attorney because there's just too much stuff for me to handle alone.
Its not a web-based business--am more in Life-science laboratory environment. My company doesn't even have a website--trying to teach myself "Dreamweaver" in spare time so I can create my own site. Am on a budget,,;)
And oh yeah--learning sales and acquiring customers is an art and science in itself--I REALLY need advice and tips on how to talk and present myself more effectively to potential clients, since I have a Biology background, not business and thus never had a lot of presentation and talking experience.
Thanks!
Hello Keith,

I registered my business a year ago as well. I am a plus size clothing designer but like Huma I am still a work in progress. My website is almost finished and I would love marketing tools to help market the line and if anybody has any manufacturing information I would love that as well.
Alright - there seems to be enough interest in this so I'm proposing a coffeehouse meetup.

Wednesday September 29th at 8pm in New Brunswick for a njyp entreprenuership networking meeting. Who'd be in for that?
