BREAK’N THROUGH is a dynamic concert series showcasing music industry’s burgeoning top talent to record labels, entertainment agencies, major brands, advertising and marketing agencies, media outlets, and of course the fans. This series of events is the innovation of TAO Experience (TAO Partners Inc), a cutting-edge marketing and talent management firm. The BREAK'N THROUGH concert series will consist of 4 genre specific shows over the next 4 months ( Pop/RnB, All Things Rock, Hip Hop, and Unplugged), and culminate in our FINAL episode in January. Each showcase will feature performances by 5 of the top unsigned artists of that genre, and headlined by one of today's hottest NEW music stars.
The unsigned artists are not just performing for the VIP audience, they are also performing for the fans in the hopes of winning the BREAK'N THROUGH contest. Through an online voting system, fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite unsigned artists. Each genre show will produce a winner who will move onto the finals. The overall winner of the BREAK'N THROUGH finals will receive a full marketing kit (music video shoot, full production of a 4 track demo, website development, and a performance on a major TV program) to bolster their visibility and give them the leverage to sign a strong contract with a major label.
BREAK’N THROUGH concerts will be filmed in HD for an upcoming reality television and webisode series. The series will follow artists, showing their struggles, heartbreaks, rejections, and commitment on their journey to break
through. The series will document undiscovered talent in their quest to break through the wall that divides them from successful artists and music icons. The BREAK’N THROUGH series is also focused on the next generation of music talent. Music and arts education programs have been suffering for years. The current economic situation has forced schools to slash or remove these critical programs entirely. TAO Experience is committed to preventing the dilution or dissolution of arts programs from our schools. As such, a significant portion of all sponsorship dollars and ticket sales garnered by the BREAK’N THROUGH series will be donated to support the VH1 Save the Music Foundation.
The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in American public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child's complete education. Since 1997, the VH1 Save The Music Foundation has provided $43 million worth of new musical instruments to more than 1,600 public schools in more than 100 cities around the country, impacting the lives of more than 1.2 million public school students. Attendance for BREAK’N THROUGH will include more than 800 individuals ranging from music industry executives and media/brand representatives to influential members of the New York social scene and avid- concert-goers.
