Children's Miracle Network needs volunteers on IHOP National Pancake Day 2/5!

IHOP National Pancake Day is Tuesday, February 5th.  From 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. customers receive ONE FREE SHORT STACK of our famous buttermilk pancakes and IHOP asks that they make a donation to the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals beneficiary, Children's Specialized Hospital, in return.  Our results have been sky-rocketing the past few years.  In the past five years we went from raising $20,000 in 2008 to $104,000 in 2012!  This year our sights are even higher for our kids!

As you can imagine the day is chaotic, but also a lot of fun.  The restaurants are bursting at the seams, and the staff is overworked.  It is no wonder some people don’t even know what the day is about.  We have found that when we can be at the restaurant to represent Children's Specialized Hospital, the results are so much better.  But there are only so many of us.  That is where you come in.

We are looking for Children's Specialized Hospital Ambassadors from 5-10 p.m.  You will be going around to the tables and asking for a donation.  Shifts are Shift 1: 5:00 – 7:45 and Shift 2: 7:30 – 10:00 p.m.  From 5-10 p.m. is when volunteers are most needed, but if you can only do earlier and still want to help, let us know!  No more than 2-3 people per shift!

Requirements:

  1. You are outgoing, not afraid to talk to strangers, and not afraid to ask for a donation!
  2. You have knowledge of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Children's Specialized Hospital which you can gain through an optional training we will offer on 1/28/13 at 7:00 p.m. at PSEG Children's Specialized Hospital in New Brunswick, or we will send you some materials and talk you through it.

How can I sign up?

is it too late to volunteer?

Not at all!  Email me which location and time you were thinking!  nfulmino@childrens-specialized.org

THANK YOU!!

If anyone has the time, this is definitely a fun volunteering event.  I helped out 2 years ago and found that most people go for the free pancakes and didn't realize they were supposed to donate.  But for free pancakes who wouldn't give a few dollars to help out children in need?

Thanks Jeff!!
