Hey Everyone - I keep hearing about how fun it is to play dodgeball as I have a few friends who are on a league up in Morristown.  I've been wanting to start playing and I found an organization in Red Bank and dodgeball starts 4/27 which is in exactly a week!

They'd preferably like a team of 8 though there are spots available for "free agents", etc. I'm not athletic but it seems like fun so if anyone has any interest and lives in the area (Red Bank) reply and maybe we can get a team started.

This sounds great - I never even knew this group existed. I would def be interested in forming up a group for dodgeball or volleyball. Please keep me posted if you get in touch with the group. Thanks
OMG, this sounds like fun! I played Dodgeball a few months back with a group on meetup.com and had a blast. I'd love more info!
It starts tonight and I think you needed to RSVP by yesterday but they may be short some players and you may be able to register tonight in person at Red Bank Middle School. It's a bit confusing. Here's the email I got yesterday...

OPEN GYM - Just a reminder for those who have not RSVP'd and want to play in our one night Tuesday (4/27/10) dodgeball league. We are extending our deadline to RSVP via email until 8 p.m. Monday night (4/26/10). We have about 18 people thus far and need some more. If the time is too early, we will push back the start time to 8 p.m. and will register people from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. For those who RSVP'd please check the website (www.cannonsportnsocial.com) by Monday 9 p.m. for final instructions.

The guy who runs it (Scott) also said you can still show up if you have not registered. http://www.cannonsportnsocial.com/page2.html

I'm still debating if I will go tonight. Thoughts?
I wont be able to make it tonite but is this an ongoing thing or a one-time affair? I sent an email to the group too after checking out their website but have not gotten a response.

Ok so the Tuesday night games alternate dodgeball (tonight), basketball (5/4), volleyball (5/11) and then circling back to dodgeball (5/18). I'd prefer it if they had a weekly dodgeball league instead.

Nanette - does the dodgeball meetup group you joined still play?
I'm not sure, it was a totally random thing the night I saw it on meetup. I will definitely check though. I'd prefer to just play Dodgeball myself since throwing balls at other people involves way less skill than the other sports! HA

The guy from cannon sports said it really depends on interest. When I mentioned I posted on a young professional forum he said he'd love to get a group of YPs involved. So maybe if we can get enough interest on here and through their organization, he'll add a weekly dodgeball league.

I'll keep my fingers crossed and if you can find anyone else who's interested please let them know. I'll keep you posted.
Nanette, are you talking about the Co-ed Central NJ Touch Football and More Group on Meetup? They play a wide variety of games that includes Dodgeball.

Dar-
I think that might have been it, I randomly joined when I saw Dodgeball. After that I didn't pay attention to anything else going on! Hopefully we can get enough people to start a weekly Dodgeball like Shannon is mentioning!

I know you guys are talking about doing this soon, but I'm in a softball league and games run through the end of summer...
I would be interested in a fall/winter dodgeball season if you guys decide you can't live without it and want to keep playing year round :D lol
Does anyone think they will make it to the 5/18 dodgeball game?
Just jumping in on your discussion here. Would totally love to join the band wagon of dodgeball. Let me know if you are attending in two weeks.
