Hey Everyone - I keep hearing about how fun it is to play dodgeball as I have a few friends who are on a league up in Morristown.  I've been wanting to start playing and I found an organization in Red Bank and dodgeball starts 4/27 which is in exactly a week!

They'd preferably like a team of 8 though there are spots available for "free agents", etc. I'm not athletic but it seems like fun so if anyone has any interest and lives in the area (Red Bank) reply and maybe we can get a team started.

I can make it on the 18th! Anyone else?
I can make it on the 18th as well :)
I can make it if you need another person.
Ditto - I sent an email to this group but never got a response. What do we need to do to get involved here?
I think we just show up around 7 or 7:30 on the 18th. But I can RSVP letting the guy who runs it (Steve) know how many people will be coming. They'd like teams of 8. Are we at 4 now?

I've found their website to be a bit confusing but this is what it says about the open gym format...
http://cannonsportnsocial.com/index.html

Beginning on 4/27/10 CSSC will be hosting an open gym format alternating the following sports: dodgeball, basketball and volleyball. Open gym will take place on Tuesday evenings at Red Bank Middle School. Games will take place at 7:45 p.m., 8:30 p.m., and 9:15 p.m. We will start with dodgeball on 4/27/10. CSSC will determine by Monday night each week if we have enough players to host a one-night Round Robin Tournament. If there are not enough RSVP's, then the night will be cancelled and we will post the cancellation on the "Home" page of the website. There will be a $10 per person fee (cash only) per each Tuesday night that you attend the open gym. Registration on each Tuesday night will run from 7:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Format and rules will be explained prior to each game. All leagues will be co-ed and casual with an emphasis on having and getting a great workout. Now is your chance to try an indoor league by which you have been intrigued.

I'm going to email Steve again just to follow-up though.
Yes, I'd still like to go to check it out and see what it's all about. Please come if you're still interested.

I dont know if you guys are still planning on going next week, but i'd like to join if possible! sounds like fun and i live right near there!
Is anyone going?

I haven't heard back from Steve (the coordinator at cannon sports). Was prob going to see Robin Hood around 4:15 (wondering if it's any good??) and it's a long movie and then dinner after so there may be a timing issue.
Ok so I just checked the site and dodgeball was canceled due to lack of interest. Sorry about that. Too bad Steve from cannon sports didn't follow up since I indicated to him that there was interest on a YPs site. But maybe that would'nt have been enough people anyway to keep it going.
