Feb 24-- Four Alt./Indie Bands Playing for Charity Benefit

Here's a fun event for a great cause-- a band night on Feb 24 to raise money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. It's this Thurs night at 8pm at Roxy & Duke's Roadhouse in Dunellen, N.J. (www.roxyanddukes.com). My roommate Larissa (also an NJYP member) and I have arranged to have four alt/indie bands volunteer their time and talent, so it'll be a great time. A group of NJYP people are going already so feel free to stop by and say hi--I'll be there the whole time :) Even if you can't go, we'd appreciate you spreading the word around to your friends on here or on facebook...Details and full info below.
Thanks!
~Stacy (www.facebook.com/stacy.straczynski, just let me know ur from njyp so I accept the friend request)
Pre-order tickets (all proceeds go to charity): http://music4acure.eventbr ite.com/ ($10 online, $15 at door). We're going to sell out so order ahead! Additionally, the bartenders at the venue have generously offered to donate 25% of their cash tips for the night to the charity, as well.

Those of you who like Court Tavern (New Brunswick), Bamboozle, or Battle of the Bands events will enjoy this :) Performances from:

* Fifteen Fleeting (15F): Described as one of New Jersey's fastest growing indie/alternative bands by Rock 101.9 RXP, 15F offers an ecclectic, alternative rock fusion. The group, which recently released its self-recorded album Presents, opened for My Chemical Romance and Gaslight Anthem in December 2010 at the Roseland Ballroom. Theey're doing an acoustic performance this time around to mix it up a bit! www.myspace.com/fifteenfleeting

* Small Town Scoundrels: The five-person band, started in 2008 in Hillsborough, N.J., presents a euphonious, premium blend of reinvented Indie, Hip-Hop, Alternative, Rock, Funk, and Jazz genres. The band recently recently performed this past summer at Warped Tour 2K10 @ Nassau Coliseum and is presently working toward playing at Bamboozle 2K11 this year.

* Modern Airs: The alternative, Jersey City-based band just launched their self-produced album. Having played at numerous locations in both New Jersey and New York, the four-person group brings the rock with a healthy dose of experimental and dissonant sounds. www.facebook.com/modernairs

* Local acoustic musician Kevin Reavey. Reavey is a singer/songwriter from Montclair, N.J. He has shared a stage with Jason Mraz, Tristan Prettyman, and many other nationally touring music acts. His music has been described by audiences as having the emoitonal style of James Taylor, the quick wit of Barenaked Ladies, and the verbal linguistics of Better Than Erza. www.youtube.com/kevinspocket
