Kristen, thanks for the feedback. I agree completely with not sitting down right away. It was difficult in this situation since the venue wouldn't take reservations. We needed to claim a table and then it was difficult to get away from it. Next time I'll need to try and move it back to the bar for a while.

Let's not sit down until we decide to order dinner. It was hard to mingle in the beginning (which I think is crucial, so some people can let down their guard/feel comfortable). I'm no stranger to networking/meeting people, so it doesn't phase me. For those who are shy or newbies, I can understand the tension. I'm glad people got up after dinner and mixed up their seating to strike up the opposite end of the table.

It was great meeting everyone. Unfortunate that I didn't get the chance to talk to everyone though. I'll keep a look out if you attend other events. I'm looking forward to the next marketing event. It was nice exchanging ideas, business development tips, etc.
We're setting up the next dinner already! Save March 2nd on your calendars! Hopefully we can have a great turn out for that as well.
So what are some ridiculous/annoying things you deal with at your marketing job? Got any funny or interesting stories to tell? What typical ignorance do you have to overcome with someone else?
Any one going to BMA's event tonight. Hope to see you there. http://tinyurl.com/y9ldwrv
Another 3 Marketing Positions opened up. I have a potential client who needs 2 people and one other company who needs someone. One for a Marketing Director (high management level), one for a Web Marketing Coordinator which is more entry level, and Bracing Product Manager which needs 2-4 years. Let me know if you are interested and I'll send you the job descriptions. If your experience is right I'll send you the contact info. My email again is paul@paulkiesche.com
We're all scheduled and booked for March 2nd in Montclair, NJ!! Here's the link to the next marketing dinner. http://www.njyp.org/events/networking-dinner-for-1

If you came last time, it'll be great to see you again. If you didn't make it last time, please join us. The group was very friendly and welcoming.
Hi I just joined this organization yesterday and didn't get a chance to attend the Marketing Conversations event. Could you briefly tell me what the event was about? I have a background in Marketing/Advertising and currently helping to manage a family owned business.
Jahnavi, You should come to our next dinner March 2nd. It's just a casual dinner with bunch of marketing professionals. There is no formal format, accept for a small introduction of everyone. It's just casual conversation about whatever. I think your question about marketing jobs would be a good one to discuss.

Hi Paul,
I would love to come to the Marketing dinner but I have classes on Tuesday and I will not be able to attend. Also, I know you guys have these dinners once every two months, so I guess I'll have to wait for the next one...which I hope isn't on a Tuesday.
Ha!! Overcoming the objections some other shady Salesperson has planted in my prospects head. Breaking down the salesperson vs. consumer barrier is the toughest.

Hey Everyone. My friend RJ was recently laid off - she is a Marketing Coordinator. Does anyone know of any good full time positions that she could apply to? Any help would be great :) I told her I'd keep my eyes open for her.
Anyone want to get some press?
