I was shocked with the Leafs trade on Sunday, however my sister's fiance, a huge Leafs fan, was going nuts. They are still far away from being contenders, but it moves the team in a good direction.

I was @ Sunday's game, and I am considering going to the viewing party on Tuesday in Newark, anyone else going?

Folks, pinch yourselves -- Ilya Kovalchuk's a Devil!

We traded away Johnny Oduya, Niclas Bergfors, Patrice Cormier and a 1st Round Pick to get Kovalchuk and Anssi Salmela, who we traded away a year or two ago. We're also trading 2nd round picks, which means in the next draft, our first pick will be early 2nd round instead of late 1st round.

Even as a rental -- because I can't imagine being able to re-sign him in the summer -- we got away with murder on the price. Once everyone's healthy, with Parise, Elias, Kovy, Zubrus, Langs and Rolston in our Top 6, and Martin back on Defense... we're a contender.

Is it April Fool's Day a little early? Wow.

I heard about the trade around 7 last night! pretty exciting stuff !!! I will be at the game tonight! Snow or not, the Devils need support!!!! :-)

I heard last night... breaking news, but at first I couldn't find what we "paid" and I was getting nervous, considering some of the rumors I had heard.

I think it was a steal, even for a rental... you are always sad to see people go, considering a player like Bergfors is so young, but Lou doesn't just make deals for the sake of doing them, he has a master plan and hopefully ends where we want!

WHAT A GAME LAST NIGHT!!!! I am so glad I was there. Most exciting finish I have seen in a while. Now, hopefully they'll be pumped to smack down the Rangers tonight!!!!! :-)
