One of my friends sent this link to me for an event that may occur on August 21, 1 pm to 5 pm.  Figured I would share.  I may go as I enjoy exploring the city and doing random things.

THE WHAT:
The hunt is designed to introduce you to the history, architecture and lesser-known aspects of Lower Manhattan that you might not otherwise see. Working with a team you will decipher clues that take you from location to location.
You will take a picture ( MAKE SURE THAT AT LEAST ONE PERSON ON YOUR TEAM HAS A CAMERA OR A MOBILE PHONE WITH A CAMERA ) of each location as proof that you were able to solve the clues!

THE WHERE:
The hunt takes place below Canal Street and goes down to the tip of Manhattan. However, the finish line is NOT in Manhattan, but just a short (and free) boat ride away.

THE WHEN:
We will gather at the meeting spot at 1:00 pm and the hunt will begin about 10 minutes later once teams have been figured out and materials distributed. Because of the location of the finish line, you should make sure you are available until at least 3:30PM. Don't worry, this event does NOT conflict with any other event on that day except for the afternoon Bike Ride. You WILL be able to attend the Governor's Island Picnic! THE WHO:
Open to anyone EXCEPT those who did it in February 2009 ( Winter CouchCrash '09 ). However if you did already do the hunt, come join us at the (top-secret) finish line to welcome the hunters as they come running in!

THE HOW:
You can sign up alone and will be matched up with a team or you can come with a team of your own. Teams are no more than 4 people.

COST:
There is a $5 cost per player. The money will be used to pay for materials absolutely necessary to the event - including pre-paid food which YOU WILL GET TO EAT. We promise -- you'll get your money's worth.

LASTLY, this is a TENTATIVE event. Once 20 people or more have signed up, the event will be confirmed. We expect that we will have more than 20 people though.
