i happened to stumble on your thread here and will offer some suggestions...

i've taken some of the brandis classes years ago and know she teaches a thorough class in addition to having a broad offering of all ballroom styles- but i will recommend Dany J @ Scarlet Mambo if serious about salsa.

http://www.scarletmambo.com/

Dany is a fellow rutgers grad and occasional face at NJYP events. i hesitate to say he's a "better" instructor in fear of staring any feuds, but i will say he teaches a more modern/club style salsa. i found brandis a bit more formal whereas Dany's classes prepare you for what you'd expect in a local/ny salsa club.

he teaches in new brunswick (and is about to open a studio in highland park, i think). check his site for schedules. BUT... what might interest you the most is he has FREE classes every thursday at club Perle in new brunswick. every thurs he runs a salsa gig there and has free classes around 9pm. i highly recommend him!

mention my name and... well- on second thought he might overcharge you. ;)
Thanks for the tip James! Will definitely look at the site. I'm interested in both formal and club style dance. So I will join Both classes... :-)
Sounds good to me Huma. Where in Edison are you and how do I sign up? Thanks! Mike

That was so much fun. Even though I missed the first class I don't think I did that bad-minus the getting dizzy from all that spinning! lol Thanks for posting this info. Huma! And Herme I'm sorry I forgot to say goodbye but I'll see you next week. I have to keep on practising so I don't forget all of those steps. =)
I'm glad you liked it Dar. I love it... Lol! All the spinning ;-)

I hope to see you next week...
Interested in salsa where is it and when exactly?
Count me in! I'm just one town over and I love dancing. Do you need a partner?
I took the class last week and everyone who doesn't have a partner is paired up with someone else who doesn't have one and you switch all night long. Hoping to make the class on Monday again. =)
