In NJ, organized amateur soccer is done by http://www.gssl.com/. You can put up a player resume at http://www.soccernjsa.com/ (which runs the semi-pro and also the cups). While the skill level may not be very high, the competitive level is...

As for pick up games, I play at the Bell Labs field in New Providence, NJ.

There are a couple leagues in New York City, don't recall off hand- I can ask for you. In Jersey, there's indoor at http://jerseyclubsports.com/sports/soccer/ and http://www.thecentercircle.com/Code/SoccerWomens.asp. Don't know if they'll take "free agents".

A pick-up game is more of what I was looking for... do you have to be a Bell Lab employee to play or is it open to everyone?

Nope, anyone can play. Get people from the surrounding area as well (mostly guys). Need to sign legal waiver though.

Season is almost over though; we play Mon. and Thur. weather permitting at 5:30 PM to dark.
