Text Message Scavenger Hunt and 1 Hour Open Bar in NYC -- Thur, Apr 7

A 2 hour scavenger hunt in NYC and a 1 hour open bar after the hunt all for only $25 on Thursday, April 7!

If you want to go, please let me know. You can pay cash directly to the event hosts.

I'll be leaving my house and taking the 190 Bus from Rutherford, NJ to NYC that leaves from the Rutherford train station at either 4:08 PM or 4:48 PM if anyone wants to travel together. Or, we can meet me in NYC by 6 PM.

Feeling a little "Mission Impossible?"

We will play and discover the city in the most interactive way: a text message scavenger hunt through NYC's most interesting sights and streets.

How does it work? Receive challenges on your cell phone and navigate through the city to complete them. There will be riddles, picture taking and questions about the city's hidden secrets.

Teams of 5 (don’t worry about coming single, we will put you into groups), will have 2 hours to play. As you play, the scores will be kept and tallied. At 8PM we will all meet at the Village Pourhouse for 1 Hour of Open Bar! Sorry, only those playing can get the Open Bar.

When: Thursday, April 7th
Time: 6:00pm - 7:55pm Scavenger Hunt (Prior Check-in required) ; 8:00pm - 9:00pm Open Bar.
Location: Start Location - Bryant Park 41st, street and 6th Ave by the fountain.
End Location - The Village Pourhouse @ 366 W 46 street.
Cost: $25 payable online or cash at the event
Level: First timers, beginners and beyond
What to bring: Each team will use 1 cellphone. (Data and Txt Message charges will apply by your carrier).

What is included?
- Open Bar for 1 hour... really!
- A 2 hour scavenger hunt
- Meeting new people in a unique way

Sample items:
1) Take a picture of a phone booth that has only one phone
2) Find this picture within 1 block of here
3) Who was the famous writer that often used the Golden Swan Garden

Rules:
Team consists of five members
BYOCP – Bring your own Cellular Phone. Data and txt messaging plan required to play. (Smartphones w/ cameras preferred)

How it works:
5:15-5:45pm: Check-in, team up and join us for a drink.
6:00pm: Game starts
7:55pm: Game ends. Everyone heads to the bar to get scores.
8:00-9:00pm: Open Bar and mingling with others.
9:00 - Whenever: Keep the fun going!

It actually was a lot of fun. The company was Stray Boots and they offer hunts for individuals and families for $10. It was very well organized and the system worked great according to everyone when we were talking about it as the post-event open bar :)
