Want to do something to help people close to home that are struggling to get by? Volunteer with me at the Food Bank in Hillside. I'm a project coordinator for Jersey Cares and would love to make it social like an NJYP event, like go out for lunch afterwards.
We're planning to go on Feb. 20th -- I know that seems like a long way off but they are only so many spots and they tend to fill up fast, so if you're interested, sign-up at www.jerseycares.org. It's free, fast, and easy to register.
Jersey Cares also had groups going on Tuesdays, check their calendar for dates. Not to mention lots of other volunteering opportunities all over the state with a wide variety of organizations -- I can't explain how great it always feels to volunteer.
If you sign up for the Food Bank, drop me a line so I know who is from NJYP.

Cheers,
Debi

Actually NJYP is volunteering there Feb 20th as a group, http://www.njyp.org/events/volunteer-food-bank-in
I know, but Jersey Cares is doing the earlier shift! I would have loved to work together and hang out afterwards, but I guess only if someone wants to work both shifts.
