Looking for an easy, convenient, fun and free way to do good in the world? Volunteer with Jersey Cares! I've done lots of projects with them and am now a project coordinator, and would love to have more NJYPers and maybe make the projects I host more social, a la what NJYP does -- have an activity and go for drinks or food after. It takes just a few minutes to register on www.jerseycares.org, then sign up for any of the hundreds of events when and where its good for you!
For my next project, I'm taking a group of volunteers to the Food Bank in HIllside on Saturday, Nov. 6th. It's the late morning shift, not too early (woo hoo!) and usually involves easy manual labor. And of course its for a great cause and you feel great after seeing the difference you can make in the lives of so many other people with just a couple hours of your time!
Hopefully this link will take you straight to the even, otherwise go to www.jerseycares.org and find the "Marketplace in Hillside" project on Nov. 6th:
We're also going back on Dec. 18th if that works better for you. Or sign up for both!
Hope to see some of you there!

I don't travel to Boston this weekend, I can join you.
Unfortunately, Jersey Cares doesnt plan many events on Sundays, I'm not really sure why. But anything they do have would be on the calendar at jerseycares.org

I meant to say "If I don't travel to Boston this weekend, I will join you on Saturday".

I have tried going to the Jersey Cares website and I don't see where to sign up for the December 18th volunteer.
huh, try this link
http://www.jerseycares.org/projects/viewProject.php?_mode=occurrenc...

Otherwise, try going back to jerseycares.org, click on "volunteer project calendar" on the left side, the "project calendar" on the top right, then forward to December and its on the 18th listed as "Marketplace in Hillside"

I hope one of those works!
