Because, "like" it or not...MTV's Jersey Shore has earned a special place in our hearts...kind of like that scrappy dog who won't stop riding your leg. 

As a Jersey Shore resident, my post explores how Jersey Shore has taken hold of the nation's collective pop culture, as well as illustrates the negative fall-out that Jersey Locals (such as myself) encounter.
