Tax Relief for Hurricane Irene Victims

The IRS has announced tax relief for certain counties in New Jersey, New York and North Carolina that have been severely impacted by Hurricane Irene. The New Jersey Division of Taxation is also considering taking action. As soon as more definitive information is available, it will be posted on the NJSCPA website.

Young CPAs Food Drive Supports Flood Victims

The New Jersey Society of CPAs Young CPAs are sponsoring a food drive to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey which works to provide support to more than 1,600 agency programs in the fight against hunger and poverty – especially in the wake of Hurricane Irene. The Young CPAs goal is to collect 100 bags of nonperishable items and canned goods – surpassing last year’s collection of 60 bags.

The drive will begin on Monday, September 19,
and will conclude on Friday, November 18.

 

You can drop off non-perishable food donations at the following locations now through November 18:
