Event Description

Make Friends. Get Out(side)! NJYPers (and their guests) have been invited to join Trail Blazers for their Survivors Expedition! This weekend getaway will include hikes through the beautiful autumn foliage, campfires and campfire cooking, sleeping under the stars (in the case of implement weather, we will sleep indoors) and a culminating celebratory feast! You and around 14 others will learn survival skills but primarily this will be an enjoyable getaway and all will walk away with new friends and lungs filled with Fall autumn air.

Cost:
$100 per person (discounted from $250)

What to Bring:
Backpack, sturdy hiking boots, appropriate warm outdoor clothing, toiletries and towel, headtorch or flashlight, water bottle, Swiss Army knife or Leatherman or other pocketknife, sleeping bag.

Do not need to bring:
Food - we will provide brunch and dinner. If there are special dietary needs, please do let us know.
Tents – depending on weather we will bunk 2 or 3 in our Hogan tents or, if it is cold, dormitory style in the Great Hall (a cabin-style building). Campers will be sleeping on cots in either location but should have their own sleeping bags.
Alcohol – we are a dry site, alcohol will not be permitted.
Electronics – please note there is limited access to outlets for charging.

However the idea is to have a truly outdoor rather than luxurious experience and if weather permits sleeping in the tents, then we will be using the latrines. In the same line of thinking, people should be prepared to rough it and wash up at the outdoor sinks as opposed to a full shower.
