Event Description

Help us help them! Spring Reins of Life is a non-profit organization. They incorporate the use of horses for therapeutic intervention toward promoting emotional growth and healing. Our volunteers will be working in the pastures and in the horse shed; doing a big spring cleaning. If the group gets a lot done there is a chance the leaders will do a mini EAL (Equine Assisted Learning) exercise to give everyone a taste of what kind of work they do to help people.

Who Can Volunteer:
This event is for dues paying members of NJYP only, http://www.njyp.org/page/pay-dues
Clearly you must be comfortable being around horses.

What to Wear and Bring:
Wear casual clothing, layers are good in case temps change (spring can be fickle). Jeans and sturdy shoes (not brand new white sneakers, lol). Bring gloves if possible.

They will have water on hand but if anyone wants to bring a lunch (or snacks) they have a kitchen with fridge and microwave available.

Parking:
spaces available at middle parking area (across from red barn with silo) and also in the main barn parking lot (all the way at very end of long driveway / by a purple tractor).
Please drive extra slow on the driveway – horses in fields, kids and such. Like 10 mph.
Also the small red barn with silo AND the main house (white with circle driveway) are very private property so we ask that no one wanders in or around there.

Finding the Group:
Call or text Christiana (CC) at 347-886-2798 then just wait at the main big barn on the porch area. Do NOT wander around the farm.
