What venue should the NJYP Holiday Party be held at? Think private space, bar, the opportunity to dance.

Last year around 125 Members attended and we had a great time.  We dressed up (dresses, blazers, we looked damn good) and had a theme 'snow'.  It was fun! I want to do it again and want to hear what venues I should consider.

Last year it was in Morristown - I am open to doing it again there or moving it around.

Where was it last year and I am guessing this year you want it in a Central location? Like Monmouth/Woodbridge type area?
I'd say New Brunswick maybe?

Monmouth county would be nice but it may be too far south for many. Morristown may also be an option.
I am looking for venue suggestions, not cities. Name some places and I will see if they can host :)

I am all for sticking with Morristown. All trains and buses go there and there are cab companies to get you back and forth if needed. Plenty of parking as well. I have always been a favorite of the Side Bar. I am not sure if Soma 13 does private parties but I guess you can ask.

Is Jimmy's still there?

There is also Hoboken - coll place but a bit North, lots of cabs and trains to all over NJ..
Scotland Yard
Brass Rail is a nice place
Trinity on the Waterfront.. You can see NYC..

If everyone has to drive then there is more potential for accidents..
Vivo Tapas Lounge in Newark.
I wouldn't say Pazzo Pazzo in Morristown because in the Winter I don't think there would be enough moving room.
In Morristown, I like Sona 13 but how about one of the places actually part of the Hyatt so that parking and sleeping, if necessary, is all right there.
How about the Shannon Rose in Woodbridge? or even the one in clifton?
I know I am totally blanking on some good places, but off the top of my head:

Grasshopper or Side Bar, in Morristown
Vanderbilts at the Hamilton Park Hotel, in Florham Park
Velvet Lounge, in Fairfield (haven't been to an event here, but know they rent it out)
Lounge 11 or Willie Mc Bride's in Hoboken (both have back rooms)
Colorado Cafe, in Watchung - do they allow private parties?
Think Starland Ballroom rents out their space - maybe The Breakfast Club in Old Bridge does?

Now I'm just thinking out loud. I am trying to remember where we've had office parties in the past (which would be none of the above) - I'll see if any come to mind.
I'm new to NJYP and didn't attend last year's event, so I'm not sure, but was it at a restaurant or bar? What about a hotel? If you want to stick to the Morristown area the Hyatt there has a lot of function space. There's also the Westin Governor Hotel. There's also the Westminster Hotel in Livingston, that place looks nice. As for restaurants, I've looked into Side Bar (it's small so might not be right for dancing).

If anyone is up for moving it, I know of a great hotel in the Meadowlands area- Renaissance Meadowlands Hotel! I work there and I'm sure I could get us some good rates! : )
I think I'd like somewhere really chic-looking. I liked where we had our 2010 Black and White Party in New Brunswick, but I can't remember the name of the venue. I wouldn't mind travelling a little bit (45-50 min) from No Jerz if it's a really cool place. Also, having at a hotel would be nice, if they could provide us with a group rate for booking rooms afterwards.
I'm not sure if the party has to be in NJ, so I have listed both NJ and NYC options. I hope this information is helpful.

Here are my suggestions:

New Jersey
--Liberty House, Jersey City (several private rooms)
--South City Grill, downtown Jersey City (private room)
--Jersey City Westin Hotel, downtown Jersey City (new hotel)
--Michael Anthony's Waterfront Restaurant, downtown Jersey City

New York:
--Battery Gardens Restaurnant, Financial District (Harbor Room)
--Etctera Etctera, midtown west (Upstairs private room)
--Maloney & Porcelli (upstairs private room)
--Opia Restaurant Bar & Lounge (midtown east) (they have 3 private rooms)
ROOM 84ROOM 84ROOM 84
ROOM 84ROOM 84ROOM 84
ROOM 84ROOM 84ROOM 84
ROOM 84ROOM 84ROOM 84
ROOM 84ROOM 84ROOM 84
Redds in Carlsadt has private room
I work at the airport in Teterboro, NJ and could possibly get good rates at all the local hotels (Hilton, Marriotts, etc)
Bethwood in Totowa
Brownstone near Clifton//Paterson

Thats all i got for now .. but i am definitely going this year, snow or no snow ;)
