I love working out and feeling strong and healthy!
I took some time off from the gym while I was in school but now after having graduated I am getting back in to the swing of things......stepping away from the pizza (most of the time)......... and realized that it's kinda hard when you don't have like-minded friends (or many friends at all) in the area to keep you motivated.
I'm a Florida transplant.... So, I'm looking to meet / plan and arrange workout sessions, jogs, gym visits, exchange diet info or exercise techniques with other fitness-minded people - professional or amateur. If anyone else is interested let me know :)

4:30 is too early! yikes lol...it will be worth it, after a few weeks your energy will increase and you will have less aches and pains...I love it...my back was killing me every morning when I wasnt going to the gym.
Dharm (i think) posted a bootcamp close to us in the daredevil group or in a forum I think and it is close to us and reasonable priced..I was thinking about it.
I know a few people who work @ WOW...If you go in ask to speak to Keli (big bodybuilding girl) she is the training manager and see what she says. They have great classes...I had the opportunity to get a free membership when I had a family member working there but I didn't join because the equipment (weights) suck...I should have tho! lol
That's the problem, I always seem to hurt my back which is what makes me have to stop working out. It's happened at least 3 times now. At least the last time I can say it wasn't because I was going to the gym. I woke up and my back was hurting me. That was back in May. I must be lifting the wrong way. I need a trainer. Do you know what they charge for one at Retro? I'm sure it's not cheap.
I'd love to take classes but I get home from work too late and gyms in NYC are super expensive.
They have group training sessions and things that are more affordable they are pretty expensive tho if you want a trainer that has a good range of knowledge (the fee goes up with the trainers experience) some of them go in there with very little if any experience and take a few tests...Wow helps them get their certifications but in the meantime who knows...
My guy has 5 certifications, 10 years experience training (much more than most trainers at wow) @ will train at home for half the price of gym sessions, and will give specials if you buy a pack (10 sessions, 1 free I believe) if you are interested, he's available weekends and evenings normally.....I've been with him for 3 years and took me a while to learn what not to do and what to do to help strengthen the back...I have a bad back as well.
Frank and Enjoli, what date/times did you sign up for the Warrior dash? Is that full yet?
Sept 10th @ 12pm.... I'm in
I may bring some firefighter buddies with me.
Evenings and weekends would be perfect!!
