Hey all,

Does anyone do any type of volunteering in the middlesex/somerset county area? I'm looking to see what opportunities there are, but the search has been difficult since a lot of volunteering opportunities occurs during the day (and I work the usual 8-5 weekdays). I have been browsing jerseycares.org for events to sign up for.

Any suggestions would be great, thanks!

Sammy's Hope is an organization that helps place rescue dogs with loving families, awesome stuff.

Joan is the contact there-joan@sammyshope.org, mention Scott Feinman if you contact her.

Good Luck!

thanks for the responses!
check out team charity (http://www.teamcharity.org/).  TC organizes volunteer events throughout the year with various organizations.  there is a large overlap between NJYP and TC members.
Hey Keith - I would love to join you for whatever you find. Philadelphia cares is doing an event saturday 10/22 (in Philly) that I am thinking about going to. I also do some things with United Way.

Hi Keith,

I work for the Alzheimer's Association and throughout the Fall months we have numerous Walk to End Alzheimer's events in New Jersey. We recently had our Pt. Pleasant Beach and Princeton events. Coming up we have our Walk in Paramus at Van Saun Park on Oct. 23rd and our Walk in Jersey City at Liberty State Park on Oct. 29th. If you are interested in volunteering, please message me or email ashley.santillo@alznj.org and let me know!

Ashley

Thanks!

The company I work for, Compassionate Care Hospice, is in need of volunteers to spend some time with our patients in Somerset County. If you are interested, you can call the office at 973-402-412 and ask for Anita.
