Wine Tasting OR BYO event?

Hi Everyone!!!

I am new to this NJYP, so I wanted to first of all say hello!!! I hope to meet a lot of new friends :-)

I was also wondering if anyone would be interested in a wine tasting or BYO type of event? We could pick a BYO venue, everyone could bring their favorite wine ($15-$30 price range), and we could all enjoy a night of food & wine. OR... I could research and see if any local places do an educational wine/food pairing type of event.

I'm not familiar with how suggesting an event with this group goes yet, but I am always looking for more "winos" (like me) to have a nice night out with. :-p

Michelle- I have heard of that company before... I know a few people who have gone to those parties... right now I am looking for "out of home venues" because my place is too small to have a party right now. Plus... even if it wasn't... I'd like to meet people before inviting them into my home :-p (I hope you understand.)

EVERYONE: be sure to confirm if you are planning to come on the 11th. I would like to call and give the restaurant our reservation by the weekend :-)

This sounds like a great idea, I need to expand my wine knowledge beyond the Cabernet I drink on rare occasions. I'm waiting to hear on my travel logistics for next week, so I'll be able to give a definite yes/no by Friday at the latest...

This sounds like fun. I enjoy wine tasting, though usually I gravitate towards sweet dessert wines. It would be fun to sample different types of wine. I will let you know for sure by Friday.

Hi Robin, welcome to NJYP. I also would be interested. The 11th works for me. I have a couple of bottles I picked up from some Long Island wineries that I would be willing to share.
