Hi Everyone!!!

I am new to this NJYP, so I wanted to first of all say hello!!! I hope to meet a lot of new friends :-)

I was also wondering if anyone would be interested in a wine tasting or BYO type of event? We could pick a BYO venue, everyone could bring their favorite wine ($15-$30 price range), and we could all enjoy a night of food & wine. OR... I could research and see if any local places do an educational wine/food pairing type of event.

I'm not familiar with how suggesting an event with this group goes yet, but I am always looking for more "winos" (like me) to have a nice night out with. :-p

LET ME KNOW IF YOU'RE INTERESTED!!!

Yes-what kind? I've tried ice wine before.

red raspberry, blueberry, pomegranate, and my all time favorite: Forbidden. It's an apple ice wine. best with some dark chocolate.

Hey guys!

I made our reservation today for 18-20people - I hope everyone can come!!! It's a good size group!!! :-)

Also- I wanted to get a feel for what everyone wants to do about the dinner. I thought it might be easier to request a fixed price menu so we all pay the same amount. They have a $35/pp option and a $50/pp option. http://alessio426.com/BanquetHall.html (The owner also mentioned we can select what is offered too...)

We could also just get whatever we want off the regular menu and split the bill at the end... But, either way, I want to make sure no one gets stuck paying too much (which often happens with big groups).

Let me know what you'd like to do. Majority rules :-)

The menu looks great and honestly I am happy with whatever option. From the looks of it, banquet style is cheaper but I am not sure everyone wants to eat that much. I like to eat so it's not a problem for me ;)

Awesome job organizing this Robin and thanks in advance! I'll do whatever the majority wants but personally I eat like a bird so the $35 option is fine with me or ordering off the menu.

I'd prefer to order off the menu, as the banquet options look like too much food for me. And, thanks for thinking in advance about the per person cost, Robin. It's so true with large groups like this....I'm usually the one paying $50 for a salad :)

Well I would prefer to just order off the menu because I'll be coming from my employer's holiday party earlier in the day (where there's tons and tons of food) and I'll not be looking to consume a 4 course meal! I realize though that it does become difficult at the end to separate it all out so if you decide to go the $35 route with the banquet menu it's fine with me.
sorry, my scale told me this morning I need to order off the menu. I promise I won't change my vote again.
I thought I was going to get there by 7:30 on Friday now it looks like I might be back 8:15/8:30. I don't want to hold everyone up so if we decide to order off the menu can I tell you guys what I want and someone order it for me? I'm sorry to be such a pain in the butt. This Friday should have been my early night at work but my boss wants to take the day off which means I'm in charge and have to stay until we are done.
