I love going horseback riding, going on trail rides and such, and I am always looking for people to go ride with. Fall is the best season to go ride! I live in Morris County, but Im willing to travel if anyone knows of any other trails. I'm up for anything so just let me know! :)

$50 is way more than I ever paid for horseback riding, but I've never gone in NJ before. I asked a girl I work with who rides and she said these three places are good too. Either way, 14th at 1pm is fine with me

Yeah I tried to get a group together but it just didnt work out. Seaton Hackney in Morristown gives lessons. Thats probably the barn you saw. Ive been there a bunch of times for trail rides and lessons. If you have any questions about it just let me know! Im always willing to go ride as well!!

Hi, I might be interested. I've never ridden, but at some point, I want to try. I live in Morris County (moved here 5 months ago), and in fact I saw a stables on South St, just before Spring Valley Rd, in Morristown. Not sure whether it is for leisure, lessons, or professional, or whatever. Obviously, I'd be interested in lessons for beginners. I recommend you email Laura O. about creating an event for this type of activity and maybe a group would sign up.
I love riding, too. I went to Echo Lake stables in West Milford about 4 years ago. It was follow the leader, but still fun. The horses were good. They had a campfire afterwards. I can't remember how much it was.
There is also a stable at Tyler State Park in Bucks County, PA. They are not follow the leader, you actually take the horses out your self, but they are quite barn sour. Even if you know how to ride, it was hard to get them to ride away from the barn and not try to run back.
Ok so I'm a little late coming into this conversation (just joined yesterday) but I love horseback riding too! I've ridden all my life and also am frustrated because I only seem to find the "follow the leader" style trail rides. I realize it's now getting a little cold but if you all are looking into taking up some rides in the spring please let me know!!
Hi Susan,
I posted a similar thread earlier this month - I would DEFINITELY like to set somehing up. Maybe a March or April date...
I'm from Matawan so would appreciate someplace not too far north Jersey. The people at the stables near me mentioned once that it's better to go in the morning as the horses aren't as tired. So maybe something around 11am would be good?? Not too early, but not too late either.

I've ridden a few times, but always follow-the-leader style, I wouldn't feel comfortable without a proper guide unless there are experienced people in our group that could help someone else out if there were a problem.
Hi all, spring seems to be coming in fits and starts but still seems like a good time to see if people are interested in setting up a day to go horse-back riding. Maybe we can find some Saturday or Sunday coming up to get a group. I live in Union County, so somewhere central Jersey would be ideal for me, but other people on this string mentioned a handful of places that seemed fine with me. Whaddaya say?
My brother works at Washington Stables in Sayreville (Bordentown Ave)... I can see if he can do a group rate.

Let me know if anyone is interested in trail riding there & I will ask him. :-)
I've never been horseback riding, but I would LOVE to give it a try!! I'm down with either north or central Jersey.
I love riding! I live in North Jersey, but I'm okay traveling elsewhere.
If anyone is interested in going riding a weekend in April let me know! I would like to try Lord Sterling Stables in Somerset, if that is ok with everyone(If there is another place that does trail rides that someone would prefer, Im ok with that too). How about we try for the morning of April 25th? Lord Sterling does trail rides Sundays. Just give me some feedback, who is interested and if that place and day are ok. Thanks!

No experience is needed for this ride. It will be a good time!
