I just joined NJYP and I am looking to meet new friends in the area. Recently, being a young professional, I’ve found it hard to schedule time when my friends and I are available to meet up during the week. Many of them are getting married, having cute little babies, and moving away. While I spend my weekends visiting them, my weeks have slowed down and I am starting to form a nice dent in the couch. I work in Princeton with an older crowd (much older), and even though they are wonderful people I would enjoy hanging out after work with someone around or closer to my age. Is anyone interested in meeting for a mid week happy hour in (or near) Princeton?

I moved to the Princeton area a little over a year ago. NJYP does host many good events in the area. I think there are a couple on the calendar right now. If anyone wants to plan a more informal outing, I'm definitely in. I sometimes feel the Princeton area crowd is a bit underrepesented here, so I'm glad to see this post :)

Celeste, where do you work?

Hi Celeste,

I work in princeton and live in hamilton. Would like to meet new friends in the area.

My email is almoula@gmail.com
Thanks Sam! Glad to hear there is plenty to do. Around town I enjoy horseback riding, running, golf, hiking, rock climbing...the list is long, and I'm always eager to try new activities. Can't wait to sign up!

Welcome to the group, Celeste! Trust me, you have joined the right group. There are plenty of events in the Princeton/New Brunswick and Somerville areas. Also, members get together all of the time via informal outings, so there's plenty to do. What do you enjoy to do?

SAM
Hi Steve! It's nice to meet another Princeton member. Sorry to hear the Princeton crowd has been underrepresented, we'll have to remedy that!

Hey Celeste! Welcome to NJYP :)

I'm always looking for good people to meet up with after work in Princeton! Some of the Princeton area NJYP girls actually get together informally for dinner every now then. We had a girls' night happy hour/karaoke night a couple of weeks ago, which was a lot of fun. Feel free to send me a message with your email address, and I'll add you to the list for future informal get-togethers!

And, be sure to sign up for the formal NJYP events in the area. They are always a lot of fun. Tons of friendly people to meet!

If you're into rock climbing, I go with a group of friends most Thursday nights to Rockville in Hamilton. We've also been hitting up the Princeton Indie Music Nights. I think the next one is March 6th (Saturday night). You're welcome to come along!
Bahadir,

Sounds like a good idea. I'd be in...

Celeste,

Welcome to NJYP.

All,

I work in Princeton as well. It seems like we have at least 6 people that would be interested in getting together in Princeton.

Would everyone be interested in getting a group together for lunch during the week? It could be a nice break from the daily stress of work.

Let me know if interested and I can put the event together.

Bahadir
I am not sure about that date yet (will know sooner to then) but generally it would work much better for this to be closer to the normal lunch hour (12-1). I would be up for meeting for a bit longer than that but I think that this time slot might work better for most people, like myself, that may not be able to leave work in the middle of the afternoon.

Alright Princeton People!!!!!

How is lunch on Wednesday 3/17 @ 2:15 PM for everyone?

For the ease of accessibility I recommend a restaurant in the MarketFair Mall.

Here is a list of places I have in mind. Please vote.

-Big Fish
-PF Chang
-Macaroni Grill
-On the Border

If the date or time does not work for you, please recommend an alternate.

Take Care,

Bahadir
Then I will most likely be in (will know about a possible work meeting later this week). Any of those restaurants are fine.

NOTE - That date is St. Patrick's Day. Not sure if that will affect anyone's avaialbility?

Steve
Bahadir,

Thanks for planning this! I would love to join the group for lunch. 3/17 works for me, and any restaurant from the list sounds great. Sorry for the late reply, I've been sick all week.

Welcome Celeste! I am always looking in making new friends in the area, especially girlfriends since it could be challenging. Always up for going out, doing fun things, staying active and happy hour of course! I'm going to check out Dublin Square tomorrow apparently they have something going on Wednesday nights. If that doesn't work for you then contact me and we can set something else up! have a good one... Claudia
Next Wednesday works for me, too.
