Once a month, I turn my living room floor into a make-shift art studio.  I like creating messy, multimedia art, including collage, painting, photography, you name it.  I also used to run creativity workshops in college - so we could perhaps incorporate some free-writing, stream of consciousness writing into the mix.  Ideally, I'd love to make this a day in a peaceful park with lots of trees on a warm spring day.  But for now, I'm looking to see if there's any interest here on NJYP.

At the time of writing this, there's a snow storm warning in effect for our lovely state.  I will actually spend the indoors time on some writing and creative endeavors.  I look forward to hearing from others interested in spending some time dedicated to self-expression and artistic endeavors.

Stay warm.

I'm a bit curious about this. I'm tried setting up things like this before, but it never worked out. It works well as a sketch or plein air painting session outdoors. I could use a group to encourage more painting.
Hi Paul. It doesn't seem to be popular right now. Although, once spring sets in and it's sunny and 70 degrees out, I will give this idea another go. Art in the park!
Art in the Park sounds great, let me know if you want to make it official in the spring!
Hi Stephanie,

I'm always up for making a creative mess! Do you still lead workshops? Have you read, The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron? Maybe you could do your own rendition of the artist's dates from that book? Art in the park is great too.

Keep me posted,
Michele
Definitely!

I own that book! In fact, it was a big inspiration for me when I started the creativity group in college. I will certainly let you know when we get this art in the park up and running. With weather like this weekend, maybe spring is right around the corner.

OMG I would LOVE to do this . . . Where and when - I will so be there!!!
I would be interested and I know of a friend that would be as well.

Are you guys doing anything like this in July or August at all?

I am extremely excited about this. I'm going to keep my eyes open for for an event. Maybe we can find a project to do that we can donate somewhere. Does anyone know of any organization that might need something made or built?
