Hello again, Fellow WINOS!!!

I am planning our 3rd Wine BYO, which will be held in Morristown on May 21th at 7:30pm (You're welcome,North-Jersey-ians! haha).  I have selected venues which were recommended by people familiar with the area. (THANKS to Michael & James!)

THE LOCATION FOR DINNER IS:

For the "DANCE portion of the evening" (if you wish to attend), We can go up the road to: "Grasshopper off the Green" (recommended by James!)

For those of you (like myself) who may need hotel accommodations after our night of fun, The Morristown Hyatt is less than a mile away!

Let me know what you think, and if you may be interested!!!

:-)

"TWIST FOR THIS BYO" -- I think it would be nice to have someone win (a small amount of $$) for the "most liked wine"... Everyone can put $5 into a pot upon arrival. (I
will have a list of everyone who is attending and check off names
accordingly). THEN- by the end of the night, once everyone has sampled
all the wine, they can write down their favorite wine. Who ever brought
the wine that has the most votes WINS! We usually have at least 15
people at these events... so that's $75 to the winner!!! (OR we can do a
1st prize, 2nd prize, 3rd prize...).  LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK! :-)

===

Just to recap the "rules":

1. RSVP accordingly - let me know if you have a "+1"
2. Bring a bottle of wine of your choice (red, white, champagne,
rose...)
3. Bring $5 for the "Contest"... Check in with me when you arrive so I
can check your name off. Who ever brings the wine that gets the most
votes will win the $$ (We may do a 1st, 2nd, 3rd Prize...)
4. BE SAFE!!!! There will be a lot of wine to "taste", be sure to pace
yourself, and have a DD, or a place to stay close by (IF NECESSARY)!!!
5. Bring comfortable shoes if you plan on attending the "after party"
:-p

And, as always: REMEMBER: "Life is too short to drink bad wine!"

Look at you putting it together! Go girl.

For a Friday night afterparty I would wholeheartedly recommend Grasshopper over SM23.

What's the twist? :)
Well, Mr. Shipley, We all know YOU know your after party venues, LOL :-p

I just checked out, "Grasshopper" more closely, and it does look like a pretty fun crowd! (I didn't realize they had dancing)

I will update accordingly... :-)

....Twist details to follow.... ::TEASER...TEASER:: haha.
I want to know the twist!!!!!
I might be down for this as I live in Morristown and do enjoy a glass of wine. I've actually never heard of either of these and I'm always up for going places I haven't been, especially in my own town, lol.
Michael- You def have NO excuse :-p

Hope to see you there. Keep your eyes on the forum for details... :-)
I'll be there! I will eat almost anything, so either restaurant choice is good!
yea. Kristen- I am hoping since there are so many North Jersey NJYP-ers, I will get feedback. As I said, I am just going with popular demand to rotate the venue location, and I have no real familiarity with Morristown. :-)
I've been to this place several times and have never been disappointed:

They have an outdoor seating area as well should we be so inclined.
In addition there are a couple good sushi restaurants that are byob in town, but I understand that sushi isn't for everyone =)

I would say the hopper and Sona 13 are probably your best bets for dancing in town but both can get pretty packed so just be prepared for that
I'm in...finally..bringing a bottle of Rioja.....
OKAY- SO HERE IS , "THE TWIST", I WAS HINTING ABOUT... (which will only happen if enough people like the idea!)

I think it would be nice to have someone win (a small amount of $$) for the "most liked wine"... Everyone can put $5 into a pot upon arrival. What do you all think? It might be an incentive to sample the wine you bring before coming to the event.

Remember, good taste does NOT always need to be a lot more expensive!!! No one should be spending more than $25 on the wine they bring to these events. (Maybe one day we'll have an "expensive BYO", but as for now, let's stick with this price range! LOL)

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!!!
May 21 sounds good to me. Seems like people have some thoughts about the restaurants so I'll hold off on voting. I'm fine with the twist, but sheesh, after all the wine last time I don't know if I could have coherently picked a favorite!
Deborah- The trick is to pick your favorite early, before "sampling" multiple times! LOL.

Yes. we'll wait off on the restaurant selection... I am hoping to get a lot of input (COME ON MO-TOWN-ERS!!! haha)
