I actually ran into a pizza tour website while checking out things to do in NYC last year.  I admit I love pizza and I am sure others do not have such a wild affection for it as myself.

I was planning on doing the tour sometime, but decided to see if anyone wanted to tag along.

The website is:

http://www.scottspizzatours.com/

There are two tours.  A walking tour is $35 and a bus is $55 (Sundays).   They are 3 to 4.5 hours depending on the tour.

Info from the site:
Trace back both 19th-century Italian immigration and pizza history from Manhattan's Little Italy to historic Greenwich Village. Along the way, you'll eat slices from century-old brick ovens and classic slice shops!

Find:

The birthplace of modern pizza

Manhattan's Little Italy

The country's oldest Italian cheese shop

Pizza's secret health benefits
A classic New York street slice

Two century-old coal burning brick ovens
New York's pizza oven workshop
You'll visit pizzerias heralded by Zagat's, AOL City Guide, Time Out New York, the Food Network and New Yorkers alike as the city's best. The Pizza Walk is New York's most comprehensive culinary expedition!

mmmmmm pizza

I'll keep an eye on this and if I can go the day you pick, I would love to check it out :D
That does sound good. When you pick a date, if I can go, I'm there :-)
I am totally interested, and I bet I've got a handful of friends who would be too.
I'd be interested depending on the day.
Well I guess we first have to figure out the tour we want.

The bus tour is 4.5 hours, starts at 11 am on Sundays. It is $55. It will go through Manhattan and another borough. You check out 4 pizza joints

The other one is a 1.5 mile walk over 3 hours and you check out 3 pizza joints for $33. It also starts at 11 am on weekdays and Saturday.

If we want to do a Saturday we probably have to do it more than a week in advance because that books up.

Depending on the group size I can see if we can get a private tour. I think they said 32 is the optimal number because they can buy 4 pies (32 slices). Don't ask :)

Update:
On the website it seems like they want at least 2 months notice for a private event. Strange, but ok! I will see how things go.

I do know before the summer is up I am going to go to Pete and Eldas because I need to compete!
This looks really cool.
I'm glad you think so James. I guess you are in. So I guess all we need is a vote to when. I can't do it until August since I will be gone next week.

Definitely looks like fun! if I can be there on the chosen date, i'm in!
This pizza tour sounds like a good idea. I'm down for going.
Looks like 8 people are interested from the site and Amanda said she has X amount of friends too. Again we just need to throw out which one people are interested in. Who is interested in the bus? I am assuming we are working with Saturday and Sunday?
Sounds interesting but depends on the day picked. Personally, the walking tour sounds like more fun ... but I like to walk.
I am off on Sundays and Mondays although there are a few Sundays I already have blocked off in the future. Will depend on the date.
