There were some discussions on here a while back about going on a photo walk/safari. That's when you pick a place (often outdoors) and go with a bunch of people to take pictures. Who's up for a photo walk in Monmouth County, Ocean County, or wherever else a great place to take photos happens to be?

Off the top of my head I'm thinking of either a park or somewhere near the beach, but I'm open to suggestions. Spring Lake is somewhere I've been wanting to go back to with my camera: you have the lake, the beach, and some historic-looking buildings.

What days are good for people? A Saturday or Sunday in August or September?

Hi Jason!

COUNT ME IN!!! I love photography and live in Ocean County. Let's go! How about planning something for Aug 21 or 28th so people have some time to respond? I'm free both of those days (and the Sundays that follow them also). Thanks!!!
I would definitely be interested in this too depending on the date. I live in Morris County but think this would definitely be worth the drive. :-)
I'd be interested but Aug is out for me-too many people already have things planned on here for Aug. Sept would be better.
Allaire is pretty in the fall and lots of good photo op's. :D
im totally down let me know i live in bergen co. but dont mind road trips and love using my nikon d5000
How about Sunday, September 5th at Spring Lake?
Hi Everyone,

I've been wanting to hit up this place all summer, just haven't gotten down there:
http://www.groundsforsculpture.org/direct.htm

It's called "Grounds for Sculpture" in Hamilton, NJ. Looks like a great place to take pics - which was actually my intention for the trip : )

Now through Sept. 19th, one of the artists being featured is Keith Haring (if you are familiar?).
Brief description from website...
In A New Dimension, Keith Haring, an artist heavily influenced by graffiti and cartoon art, took his imagery far beyond those stylistic genres. Famous the world over for his drawings, paintings, and prints, Haring is less well known for his three-dimensional work. However, Haring produced a large amount of sculpture during his brief but creative lifetime.

As of now I can't go Saturday the 21st or 28th. The exhibit is open Tues - Sun from 10 to 6. Admission is $12
Sounds like a great plan! I'm in Morris County but would love to perhaps carpool with someone. It would be nice to have a reason to dust off the EOS 20D. :)
is there a date set yet ??
that looks amazing holly !!

Jason,

Pretty sure the 5th is the day before labor day, right? I will be in Maine, and have a feeling people may be away or have plans that w'end?

I didn't mean to take over your discussion. If you (or anyone) is interested in going to the G's for Sculpture and happen to have a day off during the week, I may try to go in the next few weeks. Or, I have Sunday Aug 22nd available, if anyone actually wants to go. Otherwise, I'd be open to another venue as well when you decide. Thanks.
Good call on the 5th being before labor day. Sunday, September 12 I will be at Spring Lake taking pictures with anyone who can make it.
