Once an estate and premier thoroughbred breeding farm, Thompson Park now offers a multitude of outdoor activities, from hiking, biking and cross country skiing, in the heart of Monmouth County. Our 6 mile hike will go over the moderate Reservoir Loop. Afterward, the group may go for a late lunch and drinks...totally optional but always fun!
Member Cost:
$5 for the first 5
$10 for the next 6 to 25
$20 at the door
Non-Member Cost:
$20 online and at the door.
Tickets:
There are a limited number of tickets for sale. Tickets are not mailed, but your name will be kept at the door. All sales are final.
Specs:
The hike is classified as moderate and is good for beginners.
Length of the hike is about 6 miles long and we will walk at a moderate pace.
The hike should take about 3 hours.
As with all hikes you must be in good, athletic shape.
Sweeper:
If the group size is large we are going to look for a volunteer to act as a sweeper. Sweepers will walk at the end of the hike line and will make sure the group stays together.
Hike Leader:
Keira will be leading this hike. She will make sure the hike starts on time so please arrive on time.
What to bring:
Water (required).
Hiking boots and bug spray recommended.
A light snack.

Heavy precipitation will cancel this hike; drizzle will not. Please check your inbox for updates and the NJYP.org calendar. Tickets will be refunded.
Directions:
Garden State Parkway to exit 109. Southbound, turn right onto Rt. 520 West (Newman Springs Rd.); Northbound, turn left onto Rt. 520 West 2.2 miles to Park (past M.T. Thompson park and Brookdale College entrance ) on left.
State Hwy. 34 to Rt. 520 east. Southbound, turn left; northbound, turn right. Follow Rt. 520 east to Park entrance.
The group will meet in the Old Orchard parking lot.
